Public Practice

Profile Public Practice is a social enterprise with a mission to build the public sector’s capacity to improve the quality, equality and sustainability of places. Public Practice finds, selects, places and trains built environment professionals in local authority teams. Public Practice also creates opportunities for collaboration and cross-sector learning beyond the programme through their network, events and publications. Since 2018, Public Practice has placed over 200 people into over 50 Authorities, and are expanding their offer nationally in the coming year.

Civic Engineers Civic Engineers are civil, structural and transport engineers who work to create inspirational structures and places that have a positive impact on the environment and enable people to lead happier and healthier lives. With studios in Manchester, London, Leeds and Glasgow, the 165 strong team have extensive experience of delivering projects that help to create and transform buildings, neighbourhoods and cities and bring significant economic, social and environmental benefits for those who live, work and visit them.  Current projects include Mayfield in Manchester, Avenues project in Glasgow, Climate Innovation District in Leeds and Gascoigne Estate in London.
