PLACED Academy Foundations are two-day programmes, introducing the built environment and offering participants a taster of PLACED Academy Studio (our main programme). Packed with creative activities, they introduce participants to careers in the sector, help them to develop their skills and build confidence.
Our 2024-25 Academy Foundations saw over 100 young participants from years 7-9.
PLACED Academy Foundations is suitable for Years 7, 8 & 9 and is available to 60 young people across the Northwest (no matter your location). PLACED Academy Foundations usually takes place over a Half Term.
PLACED is funding PLACED Academy Studio as part of its commitment to giving back to our local communities, ensuring the opportunity is completely FREE to all participants.
WHO CAN APPLY?
PLACED Academy Studio is open to young people in years 7, 8 & 9 from the Northwest. We welcome people of all abilities and backgrounds.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
You’ll take part in a range of creative design activities and challenges over the two days, including:
- Creative design projects
- Learning about how places are designed and who is involved
- Working with professionals from the sector
- Collaborating with their peers
